The homeowner's contemporary home had one big problem: Water leaked regularly into the basement. The design not only resolved the problem, it created a much more beautiful space and view.

Rain water from uphill neighbors and homeowner's downspouts was getting into the basement. The homeowners were tired of ugly black pipes between the house and the swimming pool.

We were able to eliminate two step treads with the new bridge. Why go down to then go up a hill? The stormwater became an amenity.

DURING: Drainage Issue Artfully Solved

A deep and natural-looking swale was designed to run parallel with the house. Pipe from the downspout was hidden under the gravel trench and boulders were placed to suggest a stream.
